Sudy Subject Scholarships are awarded in the field of public policy, public administration, and public management. Nationality: Scholarships are open to students of all nationalities.
  • Scholarships Programme for Diaspora Children, The Government of India is offering “Scholarship Programme for Diaspora Children” (SPDC) to pursue undergraduate courses in Indian universities/institutes. Indian and non-Indian residents are eligible to apply for these scholarships.




1. Fully Funded Scholarships at National University of Singapore, 2017

Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at National University of Singapore (NUS) is offering fully funded scholarships. These scholarships are available to pursue masters or Ph.D. program in 2017.

The programme aims to train the next generation of thought leaders with the analytical skills and substantive knowledge needed to generate, evaluate, and communicate research in public policy.

The Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy is an autonomous postgraduate school of the National University of Singapore (NUS). It is a leading global public policy school in Asia.

TOEFL /IELTS is mandatory for all MPP, MPA and MPM applicants except those with Bachelor’s degree conducted entirely in English.

Asean Scholarship Award: The scholarship covers

Full Tuition Fee
Accommodation on campus
One-time book & settling allowance
Health Insurance
One-time airfare from home country to Singapore and return
Monthly stipend to cover the living expenses

Scholarship can be taken in Singapore

Eligibility: Scholarship applicants must have good academic and professional records. They must demonstrate leadership and a desire to contribute to public service. Not all the awards will be made unless there are candidates of sufficient merit. Scholars should not concurrently hold any other scholarship, fellowship or award without the prior approval of the School. Candidates should indicate that they wish to be considered for financial aid when they submit their application through the LKY School website.

Entrance Requirement:

Test Requirement: Please note that GRE score is compulsory for Ph.D. applicants. All applicants must submit their GRE score via the institution code 7541.

English Language Requirement: TOEFL /IELTS is mandatory for all MPP, MPA and MPM applicants except those with Bachelor’s degree conducted entirely in English. While the Admissions Committee does not set minimum scores for admissibility, experience suggests that successful applicants usually achieve or exceed the following scores:

600 on the TOEFL paper-based test
 100 on the TOEFL internet-based test
0 on the IELTS academic test

Asean Scholarships Application Deadline: The Master programmes applications are open from 01 August 2016 until 31 December 2016 for those seeking financial support from the LKY School; and until 15 January 2017 for those not seeking financial aid. The Ph.D. programmes applications are open from 01 August 2016 until 15 December 2016.


2. 150 Government of India Scholarships Programme for Diaspora Children, 2016-2017

Nationality: Indian as well as well Non-Indian Residents (ECR countries are: Afghanistan, Bahrain, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Thailand, United Arab Emirates and Yemen) are eligible to apply for these scholarships.

Under SPDC scheme financial assistance for specific undergraduate courses in Professional and Non-Professional courses (except Medical and related courses) is provided towards tuition fee, admission fee and post admission services. The scheme is applicable to NRIs and PIOs from 66 countries.

The SPDC is open to applicants in the age group of 17 to 21 years as on 1st October 2016. Applicants born on or after 1st October 1995 and before 1st October 1999 are eligible to apply.

Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing Undergraduate courses in Indian Universities/Institutes.

Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded in Professional and Non-Professional courses (except Medical and related courses).

Scholarship Award: (a) In the First Year: Partial financial assistance to the extent of 75% of the total Institutional Economic Cost (IEC) subject to a maximum of US $ Four Thousand (US$ 4,000) per annum in respect of NITs and other institutions covered under DASA Scheme with effect from the academic year 2011-2012 (pertaining to those Institutes who had increased Tuition Fee for the Academic Year 2011-12 and onwards); And where there is no increase in tuition fees for the academic year 2011- 2012, the existing limit of 75% of IEC or US$ 3600, whichever is less would continue and would be made by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India to the applicants selected for the SPDC scheme. IEC includes Tuition fee, Hostel fee & other institutional charges. (Food charges are excluded).

(b) For Second and Subsequent Years: The parameters for continuation of scholarship to selected applicants for the second and subsequent years of study are as follows:
(i) Students securing 50% marks in aggregate in an academic year with clear pass marks in all subjects of study, would be eligible to receive the maximum admissible scholarship i.e. 75% of IEC or US$ Four Thousand only (US$ 4,000), in respect of NITs, IIITs, Schools of Planning and Architecture, ‘A ‘Grade institutions accredited by NAAC and recognized by UGC and other institutions covered under DASA Scheme with effect from the academic year 2016-17 and where there is no increase in tuition fees for the academic year 2011-12, the existing limit of 75% of IEC or US$ 3600, whichever is less, in the following year of study.
(ii) Students, who secure less than 50% marks in aggregate in an academic year and have obtained clear pass marks in all subjects of study, would be eligible to receive 90% of the scholarship admissible under paragraph
7(b) (i) above, in the following year of study.
(iii) Students, who could not secure clear pass marks in all subjects but have been promoted by the Institute/University to the next academic year, would be eligible to receive 50% of the scholarship admissible under paragraph
7(b) (i) above in the following year of study.
(iv)  Students, who have not been promoted to the next academic year, would not be eligible for grant of any further scholarship.

Eligibility: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for scholarship:

Nationality:

(a) SPDC is awarded to following four categories:

    Person of Indian Origin
    Non-Resident Indian
    Children of Indian Workers in ECR countries studying outside India
    Children of Indian Workers in ECR countries studying in India

Age:

The SPDC is open to applicants in the age group of 17 to 21 years as on 1st October 2016. Applicants born on or after 1st October 1995 and before 1st October 1999 are eligible to apply. Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/University Certificate of Class 10th or equivalent, or as mentioned in a certificate for this purpose issued by appropriate Government authorities of respective countries will be taken as authentic for this purpose.

Academic Qualification:

 Qualifying Examination: The candidate must have passed the Senior Secondary (10+2) or equivalent examination from a system of education recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), with requisite subjects.
Minimum Marks in qualifying Examination: The candidate must have secured a minimum of 60% aggregate marks or equivalent grades in the aggregate of all the subjects in the qualifying examination.
Subjects of Study in Qualifying Examination: The candidate must have studied the prescribed essential subjects at the qualifying examination level to pursue a particular course of study. Details of Institutions and Courses offered are as given at Appendix-C.

Entrance Requirements: The candidate must have passed the Senior Secondary (10+2) or equivalent examination from a system of education recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), with requisite subjects.

English language Requirements: English is the medium of instruction at all the Institutes.



How to Apply: After obtaining admission in selected course in any of the institutes as mentioned in Appendix ‘C’, students who fulfill all other eligibility conditions can complete and submit the online application form on the SPDC portal.



Application Deadline: All the documents must be submitted by 23rd September 2016.
