Postgraduate Scholarships in Australia 2013 Description: This initiative by the Status of Women in Employment & Education Committee, in conjunction with the USQ Women’s Development Program, aims to assist specific under-represented groups of female Postgraduate Scholarships to enhance their career potential and increase retention.
Postgraduate Scholarships Study Subject: Courses offered by the university, scholarship is available for pursuing postgraduate degree level and Provider by Status of Women in Employment & Education Committee.
Postgraduate Scholarship Open for International Students of Australia can apply for this scholarship.
USQ Women’s development Scholarships are available for postgraduate students in Australia. The students of Australia can apply for this scholarship. The scholarships are paid directly to the recipients USQ student account as a contribution toward their tuition fees. Two scholarships are offered and each scholarship will have a maximum value of $1,500. Applications must be received by 15th March 2013 for Semester 1, 2013.
Eligibility: To be eligible applicants must:
-be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status
-be female
-be enrolled in a USQ postgraduate coursework program
-be a continuing student
-be enrolled at Toowoomba, Springfield or Fraser Coast Campus
-be enrolled in up to 4 study units in Semester One/Semester Two
-be studying on-campus, external or online.
Number of award: USQ will award two USQ Women’s Development Postgraduate Scholarships.
What does it cover? Each Scholarship will have a maximum value of $1,500. The Scholarship is paid directly to the recipients USQ student account as a contribution toward their tuition fees.
Selection criteria: Applicants must meet some of the following criteria:
-those experiencing financial hardship eg
-single parent with part-time employment/low income
-job loss or potential loss of farm
-personal circumstances eg
-first in family to study at a postgraduate level and little support for her initiative
-victim of domestic violence
-students with a disability or medical condition
-rural and regional students
-Indigenous Australians
-those from Non-English Speaking Backgrounds (NESB)
-students enrolled in non-traditional areas of study, based on gender
Applicants must submit a personal statement indicating:
-confirmation of progress of dissertation or study
-a description of their career aims and goals
Applicants must:
-provide evidence of academic achievement
-provide a current curriculum vitae
-have a sound level of academic achievement
-if a USQ Staff member, provide a Memo of Support from their Head of School or Department to undertake study.
